ALWY is an ultra-lightweight and compact child carrier. Unlike other types of carriers, it does not have its own straps that get in the way under the backpack. Instead, ALWY uses the backpack straps to which it attaches.


The backpack you use with the carrier must have load lifters. These straps must be sewn on tightly enough to support the weight of the child. Be careful on this with ultralight backpacks.

On the other hand, when traveling with children, we often reach for heavier backpacks because we carry equipment for more people and thus a greater overall load, for which ultralight backpacks tend to be uncomfortable.

In our experience

The carrier is not suitable for long-term use, but rather for a short rest (several tens of minutes). It can be a great substitute for a shoulder ride, where you have to secure the child by their legs. With ALWY, you always have both hands free and can even walk with trekking poles. Kids can also take a nap in ALWY.

Be careful in difficult terrain, as you cannot see under your feet over the child. Especially on steep descents, it is safer to carry your child in your arms than in the carrier.
