Getka Gaiters are ultralight, breathable and very popular among hikers. They protect your shoe against any unwanted small mess you may encounter along the way. This means you won't have to empty your boots as often, plus it will extend the life of your boots and socks. But what you'll appreciate most is the protection against sand when travelling over sandy sections, against cold snow (the covers are not waterproof) or against low-flying insects such as midges.

They are versatile, which means they can be used in combination with any shoe. For shoes that do not have Velcro on the heel, a Velcro tape from 3M is included. You can take the shoes on and off freely without removing the shoe itself.

Hlavním důvodem proč nosit na svých botách návleky je to, aby vám do bot nepadaly kamínky a jiné nečistoty. Zejména při dlouhodobém používání návleků na dálkovém treku tím předejte tak vzniku otlačenin, pochýřů a prodloužíte tím životnost nejen vašich ponožek, ale i vnitřního polstrování bot. Dlouho jsem se sháněl po nějakých návlecích na boty, které by byly jednoduché, prodyšné a zároveň s nějakými veselými barvami a motivy. Pak jsem objevil Getky a od té doby jiné nepoužívám. Getky jsou lehoučké, dobře obepínají nohu, a zároveň ji neškrtí, takže naprostou většinu času o nich ani nevíte. Se dvěma různými páry jsem přešel Pyreneje (866 km), Východní Alpy (930 km) a řadu dalších kratších treků. Překvapila mě u nich skvělá prodyšnost, trvanlivost švů i suchého zipu na zadní straně. Pravdou je, že nyní mám již čtvrté, ale ne proto, že by se zničily, ale hlavně proto, že každý rok vyjde nějaký nový hezký motiv a je fajn si je hezky sladit s novými botami. Za výhodu návleků Getka považuji i to, že suchý zip je pouze z jedné strany a při praní v pračce se tak zbytečně nechytá za jiné oblečení.
